The visioning and stakeholder engagement workshop was conducted on April 8, 2026.

Purpose of the workshop

The workshop consolidated shared aspirations across sectors and established a collective vision for the Teppakulam Precinct as Trichy’s iconic public space.

Representatives from Trichy City Corporation, Indian Institute of Architects – Trichy Centre, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) – Trichy Zone, CREDAI, TrichySEED, Trichy Tourism Federation, institutions such as St.Joseph’s College, and Shrimathi Indira Gandhi College and others participated in the day-long workshop. Participants shared their perspectives, identified priorities, and contributed to a collective vision for the precinct that reflects the interests of all stakeholders.

The outcome of the workshop form the core of the brief for the National Level Open Ideas Design Competition to reimagining Trichy’s iconic public space.

The workshop was presided by the Commissioner of Trichy City Corporation and facilitated by Ar. Vidhya Mohankumar of Urban Design Collective. Ar.P.Chandranesan, Treasurer, Archtrust, Trichy delivered the Vote of Thanks.
